2014 Chapter Elections: Ricardo Ochoa statement for Vice President, Japan

Ricardo E. Ochoa, Tokyo

Candidate for vice president of Japan subchapter

I’m a Southern California native and a Haas School of Business (at UC Berkeley), MBA grad and correspondent for BBC Mundo in Asia. Most of my childhood was spent living outside the United States. I’ve been fortunate enough to live in Argentina, Colombia, Italy, France, Spain and Japan for extended periods of time. This experience on top of coming from a very multicultural family (a mix Japanese-British mother and a Spanish-Italian father), my view of the world, its people, music, languages and cultures have become my passion.

I believe that my personal experience can bring a unique and positive feel to the AAJA-Asia’s Tokyo Chapter. As VP, I plan to put all my effort into building a community of great value where every member can feel as a part of the AAJA family, and the great value of being a part of our community. I forward to working and connecting with all of you, as well as bringing our community closer together.
