AAJA-Asia is excited to announce the AAJA-Asia Professional Development Travel Stipend program for chapter members, designed to reward promising and active members who might lack the financial ability to pursue their professional development aims.
This pilot program will grant US$350 to a chapter member to help with travel costs to the 4th annual regional New.Now.Next Media Conference in Hong Kong, planned for the weekend of June 6-8, 2014. The award will take into account an applicant’s past or potential contributions to the AAJA-Asia chapter, financial need, and professional development goals. The winner will be expected to host a casual talk in his or her home city, write up a short blog post (like this) to share the conference experience and photographs with fellow AAJA members and renew membership the following year, 2015.
**DEADLINE EXTENDED: The application form is available here. The deadline has been extended to March 14, 2014.* Applicants must be AAJA-Asia members for 2014.
Later in the year, a second part to the stipend program will award money to an AAJA-Asia member to help with travel costs to the AAJA Convention in Washington D.C., August 13-16, 2014.
For more information on the stipend program, please contact the stipend program chair Daisy Larios at daisy.larios(at)gmail.com.
*The deadline has been extended two weeks. Good luck, applicants!
