AAJA-Asia is excited to announce the second part to the AAJA-Asia Professional Development Travel Stipend program for chapter members, designed to reward promising and active members who might lack the financial ability to pursue their professional development aims.
The first part of the inaugural travel stipend program awarded US$350 to chapter member Lauren Hardie to help defray travel costs to the 4th annual regional New.Now.Next Media Conference in Hong Kong, planned for the weekend of June 6-8, 2014.
Now, AAJA-Asia will award US$500 to one chapter member to be used towards the cost of attending the AAJA Convention in Washington, D.C., August 13-16, 2014. The winner will be chosen based on the applicant’s past or potential contributions to the AAJA-Asia chapter, financial need, and professional development goals. The winner will also be expected to host a casual talk in his or her home city, write up a short blog post (like this) to share the conference experience and photographs with fellow AAJA members and renew membership the following year, 2015.
The application form is available here. The deadline is May 25, 2014. Applicants must be AAJA-Asia members for 2014.
