
AAJA-Asia Seoul, the Asian American Journalists Association-Asia’s biggest subchapter, is seeking to fill its ranks with an ambitious new board for 2018. The subchapter board will plan networking, programming and educational events for South Korea’s English-speaking journalism community.
The following positions are open for one year, from Jan. 1, 2018. Some positions can be filled by more than one member:
Secretary – keeps meeting minutes and sends out regular newsletters to membersTreasurer – keeps track of the budget and coordinates payment logistics for eventsEducation programming director – oversees student outreach coordinator, leads student membership campaigns and arranges logistics for educational workshops for the general membershipProgramming director – arranges logistics for panels, tea talks and other events promoting discussion of local journalism issuesSocial events director – arranges logistics for monthly social eventsCommunications director – oversees social media and blog posts to promote events, arranges for graphic design, blog posts and event photography as neededMembership director – manages membership campaigns, assists new members and follows up on membership renewalJob listings coordinator – keeps members up-to-date on local job offeringsStudent outreach coordinator – liaisons universities and student communities to connect them with AAJA SeoulTranslation coordinator – secures translators for events as neededEvent photographer – shoots at events as neededSocial media coordinator – works with communications director to promote events on social mediaAt-large board member – helps and directs as needed
