As part of our Advancing News Diversity in Asia (ANDA) project, the Asian American Journalists Association’s Asia Chapter released a first-of-its-kind survey to get a snapshot of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues in Asia’s newsrooms. We need your input — journalists currently working in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan are warmly invited to take part in the survey.
Recently launched with the support of the Facebook Journalism Project, the ANDA Project aims to raise awareness and support efforts to improve diversity and representation in newsrooms and coverage across Asia.
The survey is available in Chinese, English, Indonesian, Japanese and Korean. It requires approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Your participation will be fully anonymized. Complete the survey and get a chance to win a $100 USD Apple/VISA Gift Card (one gift card per surveyed market).
If you are working as a journalist in one of the markets currently included in the project, we want to hear from you and your experience! Your contribution will be key in helping to build awareness and global understanding of DEI from the perspective of journalists working in Asia. Please take our survey today!
The ANDA Project’s DEI survey can be accessed until 18 October 2021 at:
