IDG’s daily, international news service seeks an experienced, high-energy journalist to cover information technology in China, ideally from Beijing. Wide-ranging responsibilities include developing enterprise stories about emerging technologies, use of the Internet and IT in China, and covering breaking news for the daily wire. Travel is a necessary part of the job.
This position requires working fluency in Mandarin in addition to native English. The ideal candidate has a broad understanding of the IT industry, as well as an impeccable command of AP-style news writing and editing. He/she is also a technology generalist who is comfortable covering the entire IT spectrum — from handheld computers to mainframe systems and from wireless LANs to global communications networks.
