The Asian American Journalists Association’s Asia Chapter (AAJA-Asia) is honored to announce that Nobel Prize laureate and journalist Maria Ressa will speak at its New.Now.Next Media Conference (N3Con) May 25-27 in Singapore.
A journalist in Asia for more than 35 years, Ressa has endured political harassment and arrests, and been forced to post bail ten times to continue her work at Rappler in the Philippines. She is the author of “How to Stand Up to a Dictator: The Fight for Our Future,” published last year. She was awarded the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize together with Dmitry Muratov for their efforts to safeguard freedom of expression.
A pioneer media conference in Asia, N3Con 2023 brings together journalists and news professionals to discuss important media trends and workshop new skills. From the impact of generative AI on journalism to innovative audio and video formats, leading joint investigations or covering US-China Relations, N3Con 2023 will offer a wide array of panel sessions, workshops and conversations, as well as opportunities to network with a diverse group of editors and reporters from local and international news media outlets.
