Numbers Protocol and AAJA-Asia (The Asia Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association) are launching an open call program, inviting AAJA-Asia’s extended community to submit images on Capture, a platform for authenticating visual content on the blockchain. This initiative aims to promote ethical and verifiable image ownership. Anyone with a smartphone or a digital camera can participate. Winners will receive cash prizes and a free ticket to attend AAJA-Asia’s N3Con 2025.
In an era where misinformation spreads faster than facts, the integrity of news is under constant threat. As AI-generated disinformation becomes more sophisticated, journalists and media organizations face the urgent challenge to verify authenticity and protect public trust. In this context, blockchain-backed provenance solutions, such as Numbers Protocol’s Capture, are redefining news credibility. Ahead of AAJA-Asia’s New.Now.Next Media conference (N3Con 2025), Bangkok, 29-31 May – where this critical issue will be extensively discussed – Numbers Protocol and AAJA-Asia invite you to try image authentication via Capture, and stand a chance to win attractive prizes.
Submission Details:
- Theme: The Power of the Moment – Some images define history. Others simply reflect subtle social changes. This theme focuses on capturing those fleeting moments that shape public perception, inspire action, or tell an unforgettable story, with just a single frame.
- Submission Period: 18 April to May 4, 2025
- Submission Platform: All images must be submitted via Capture Dashboard. (Please read through the submission instructions below)
- Eligibility: Open to the AAJA-Asia community and extended global network, including journalists, photographers, storytellers… The competition is open to all news professionals and students in journalism. It is not restricted to photojournalist.
Submission Instructions
- Capture Dashboard (desktop) and Capture Cam (mobile) will be your main tools for submission:
- 1) Visit Capture Dashboard or Capture Cam and create an account with an email address
- 2) Upload your images via Capture Dashboard or taking photos via Capture Cam.
- 3) Make sure to add the Tag AAJA2025 to be part of the entries
- 4) For support, if needed, please read through the Capture step-by-step guide
Image Criteria:
Original, high-quality images that align with the theme. High Res photos captured with a smartphone are accepted.

- Ethical and verifiable content.
- No AI-generated images or manipulated content that misrepresents reality.

Review & Selection:
- A panel of judges from AAJA-Asia and Numbers Protocol will review all submissions.
- Selection criteria will be based on creativity, storytelling, and adherence to the open call theme.
- The winning entries will be announced on May 10, 2025.
