Wall Street Journal job opening: Asia-Pacific markets, Sydney-based

The Wall Street Journal is looking to bring a deals blogger/editor aboard to strengthen our coverage of mergers and acquisition activity in one the most exciting and vibrant markets in Asia-Pacific. The successful candidate will help shape deals news for the whole of Australasia and work closely with reporters in the joint Wall Street Journal-Dow Jones Newswires bureau and the WSJ.com Asia headquarters in Hong Kong to ensure that we command authoritative coverage of M&A activity. The mix of editing and reporting will depend partly on the candidate.

The successful applicant will have a track record of delivering scoops and incisive analysis, a collaborative work ethic and at least three years’ experience covering financial, business or economic news. Excellent banking contacts or a demonstrated ability to source well and deeply is vital. This position is envisioned as Sydney-based. The job is open to both internal and external applications.
